Yeah, the giant energy shield of, "You shall not pass" makes this even worse against FMA.

Yep. In addition to this:
Several characters have gotten better feats and buffs compared to their previous movies. Ironman has nano-tech now (Bleeding edge?), enabling him to grow weapons such as energy cannons, oversized gauntlets and greaves, and a sword and shield. He can also regrow his armor if it's ever damaged, and he can even heal actual wounds with it. He is also strong enough to smash Thanos with a giant metal pillar. Scarlet witch's TK is strong enough to lift several giant war weapons mowing through soldiers. Thor partially withstood the heat of a dying star. And Doctor Strange got a whole bunch of new abilities, between energy blasts, whips(Crimson bands of Cytorakk?) strong enough to temporarily restrain Thanos (whose stronger than the Hulk), shields, clones, and even polymorphing. He also has the ability to see the future, giving the MCU side a serious advantage since he can now predict everything their enemy is going to do.

Speaking of Scarlet Witch, she also has mass mind control, as shown in AoU, and I don't recall state alchemists having defenses against that.
